The following facilities can be found on board many of the boats in this class
The Alvechurch Owl is a 70ft long, 10 berth cruiser stern narrowboat. It has a quiet water-cooled diesel engine with simple to use controls.
There is full radiator central heating on the boat. A 200 gallon water tank supplies the hot and cold running water. There is a double-filtered drinking water system. The flooring is easy clean vinyl except there is carpeting in the saloon and bedroom.
Spacious saloon in the middle of the boat with two sofas either side of the galley, and removable tables. The two seating areas can both be converted into a double or two single beds using the fold down single in the evening, if required
Fully equipped galley with 4 burner gas cooker complete with grill and oven, refrigerator, sink and drainer, work surfaces and storage space. Microwave, toaster and cafetiere. Saucepans, cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery etc included.
There are two bathrooms, each with a wash hand basin, electrically operated flush toilet and showers, and a 240v shaver socket.
Sleeps up to 10. Both cabins either end of the boat can be configured as either one double bed or two singles. An optional high level single can be added above a single bed in either cabin.to both cabins. The two seating areas can be converted into a double or two single beds using the fold down single in the evening, if required. Important: The high level beds have a weight limit of 10 stone or 63Kg and cannot be used above a double bed.
Freshly laundered bedding is supplied for each crew member, as per your requirements. Additional bedding is available upon request. Towels are also supplied - one medium sized towel per crew member, and one hand towel per bathroom.
12v mobile phone charging point (please remember to bring your own car charging lead). The 1.6kw inverter supplies 240v electricity to certain appliances and to a socket on the boat. (Please note: if you decide to use any of your own electrical appliances, you do so at your own risk).
A welcome pack is provided, consisting of washing-up liquid (x1); dishcloth (x1); tea towel (x1); floor cloth (x1); toilet roll and bin liner.
A safe is supplied on the boat (except on boats based at Gailey), as are helmsman's waterproofs and an umbrella. Tuition, and buoyancy aids, are supplied free of charge.
